Setting up Your Computer or Device
- Download the app for your computer or
device and open the app. - Select IL from the list of states.
- Select Illinois Heartland Library System from the list of libraries.
- Enter your library card number (no spaces).
- Enter your PIN (Contact the library if you don’t know your PIN).
Finding an eBook
There are three ways to search the Cloud Library
- Featured tab: recommended and recent titles
- Browse tab: titles sorted by category for easy browsing
- Search tab: keyword search
Checking out an eBook
- Tap or click the cover art.
- Tap or click the Check Out button.
The title will be added to the bookshelf for every device on which you’ve installed the Cloud Library app.
Placing a Title on Hold
- Tap or click the cover art.
- Tap or click the Add to Hold List button.
- If you want to receive an email notification when the title is available, choose “Yes, notify me” and enter your email address.
Older Nooks
The Cloud Library can now be used with older e-reader devices (NOOK and Kobo ). First you must download the Cloud Library app to your computer (PC ). Then browse and check out titles. Plug your device into your computer using a USB cable and go to the MyBooks tab on the Cloud Library app. Transfer to Device will appear over your checked out titles. Click on the transfer icon and your books will now be available on your device!
