Minor applicants must have all parents/guardians present.
What You Need to Bring:
Evidence of Citizenship- fully valid, undamaged US Passport (may be expired); US Birth Certificate; Consular Report of Birth Abroad; Certificate of Naturalization; Certificate of Citizenship
Primary Photo ID- Valid Illinois State Drivers License; US Government ID (military ID); Valid Foreign Passport; US Permanent Resident card; Tribal Cards
Secondary IDs (2 forms if unable to provide primary ID)- out of state drivers license; in-state, fully valid non-driver ID; out-of-state ID; social security card; employee/student ID
Dept. of State Fees (check or money order):
Passport- $130 for 6-8 week delivery
Passport card- $30 for 6-8 week delivery
Expedited 2-3 week delivery- $60
PLUS
USPS Fees (check or cash):
$35 processing fee and $15 photo service
Dept. of State and USPS fees are paid in two separate payments, so plan accordingly (bring two checks, for example).


Pick up the official passport at your home library. Travel around central and southern Illinois, visiting participating public libraries. Go to each library’s circulation desk to get your passport stamped. Visit 5 or more libraries in october to complete the library crawl. Discover all the many library collections your library card gives you access to. Did you know you can check out items at other libraries and return them to your home library? The statewide courier service makes this possible. Return your stamped passport to your home library and share your adventures!

Register in person at the library. Recommended age 18 plus. Cook. Eat. Meet! Welcome to Cook the Books, where foodies meet to explore the art of cooking. Each month we’ve chosen a new cookbook to try, and we have always got something for everyone. Create mouth-watering dishes at home, then come to the library to enjoy a meal together with all the recipes that patrons chose to make. Food is Prepared in home kitchens not subject to inspection. Food may contain allergens. Attendees choosing to partake of the food/drink available during the event do so at their own risk.

Help us decorate the library by making a mural! We will provide the crayons, pencils and huuuuuuuge sheet of paper. all you have to do is meet us there and draw, draw, draw!
The completed mural will be on display in the children’s room.
