Gift Wrap Social
Thursday, December 11, 4pm to 7 pm at the New Athens District Library. Need to wrap your gifts away from prying eyes? Come to the Library for our gift wrap social! The Library will provide supplies (in limited quantities), or you can bring your own. Chat with other patrons, listen to holiday music, and enjoy refreshments while you wrap!

Cook The Books
Tuesday January 6, 2026 at 6 pm.
Cook. Eat. Meet! Welcome to cook the book, where foodies meet to explore the art of cooking. Each month we’ve chosen a new cookbook to try, and we have always got something for everyone. Create mouth-watering dishes at home, then come together with all the recipes that patrons chose to make. Register in person at the library. Recommended age 18+
Food is prepared in home kitchens not subject to inspection. Food may contain allergens. Attendees choosing to partake of the food and drink available during the event do so at their own risk.

Story time with Money Minded Illinois. Thursday February 26, at 3:30 pm. Stephanie Bevely, a community affairs specialist for the Illinois State Treasurer’s office, will read a picture book out loud to the children then teach a short lesson on financial concepts. Recommended ages 3-5 years old.
